You probably wouldn’t be shocked to learn that I, a fashion writer and impulse buyer, have a pretty expansive collection of shoes. In my home you’ll find multiple racks filled with just about every style of shoe under the sun, from trending pairs to “ugly” shoes I’m just as obsessed with. But despite that, I end up spending most of my time in just one pair.
As someone who works from home, you can find me in slippers morning, day, and night. I’m a “leave your shoes (and their accompanying dirt) at the door” type of person, but find that socks alone don’t offer much, in anything, in terms of support, so house shoes are an essential. And after much trial and error — including flat-as-a-board and just plain ugly slippers — I think I finally found the perfect pair, and they just so happen to be on sale at Amazon and DSW.

The moment I slipped on Koolaburra by Ugg’s Graisen Slippers, I decided that everyone on my holiday shopping list would be getting the luxe house shoes this year. Right out of the box, I was stunned by how beautiful the slippers were, with the chestnut suede exterior soft to the touch. The inside is lined with a plush faux fur that keeps my feet warm even without socks and the bottom has a thick, grooved outsole that makes the slipper feel like your favorite cushiony sneaker. I’ve spent hours walking up and down my apartment doing chores and Kollaburra’s slippers have kept my feet from feeling it.

“These slippers are over-the-top comfortable,” wrote one DSW shopper, while another person who wears them “every day” explained that the house shoes are so “comfortable” and “sturdy” they can even “wear them outside.” “[It’s] like walking on fluffy clouds,” wrote one customer, while another deemed it “a perfect winter slipper.” “My feet are kept warm and the support of the slipper is very comfortable,” they said.
Not to mention, they actually look good. So often I’ve ended up grabbing slippers that are so ugly that I’m actually embarrassed to answer the door in them, but the Graisens are stylish enough I could easily see myself wearing them out of the house. Koolaburra is Ugg’s more affordable sister label, and this style looks nearly identical to the brand’s slip-on Tazz mules that supermodels have worn nonstop over the last few years, but for half the price. “They’re so cute I can wear them out to the grocery store and be comfy but still fashionable,” said one Amazon customer.
I’m giving everyone these luxurious slippers this holiday season, and stocking up on my own collection while they’re on sale at Amazon and DSW.
