The professional golf player was born on 17th March 1992 in California. He is the son of Steve Cantlay (father) and Colleen Cantlay (mother). Patrick Cantlay's dad is a former club champion at Long Beach's Virginia Country Club.
He has two brothers (Nick and Jack) and one sister, Caroline. Nick and Caroline are golfers like him. The two are in the early stages of their golfing careers. Patrick enrolled at Servite Secondary School.
